These terms cover using Ilusi. They are written to be read, and the parts that could cost you money or surprise you are stated plainly rather than buried.
Ilusi is an ebook reader that can generate illustrations for the book you are reading. Reading is free and always will be: every supported format, every typography and colour setting, read-aloud and the rest of the reader cost nothing. Illustrations are the part you pay for.
Ilusi opens files you already have, and public-domain books from catalogues it links to. It cannot open copy-protected files, and it will tell you so rather than pretend otherwise.
You are responsible for having the right to read and import the files you add. Ilusi does not host, sell or distribute books.
One credit produces one illustration. Credits never expire. They have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money, and cannot be transferred between devices or people.
Nothing is generated, and no credit is spent, until you turn illustration on for a particular book. Illustrations are then drawn a chapter ahead as you read, so you only spend on what you actually reach.
If an illustration is refused by the safety filter, you are not charged for it.
Purchases are made through Apple or Google, and their refund policies apply. We cannot process a refund for a purchase we did not take payment for.
Illustrations are produced by an AI model from a description of the passage. They are an interpretation, not an authority: they can misread a scene, contradict the text, or simply be poor. They are not endorsed by, connected to, or approved by any author, publisher or estate.
Ilusi draws original characters. It is instructed never to depict a real person, and photoreal styles are refused outright for books with well-known screen adaptations so that its characters do not become portraits of actors. If you see an image that resembles a real person, please report it from the image itself.
Illustrations are for your own reading. You may keep and re-read them for as long as you like. Anything you share publicly carries a mark identifying it as an AI-generated interpretation.
Do not use Ilusi to generate sexual content involving minors, content depicting real people, or anything unlawful. Do not attempt to work around the safety checks, resell credits, or interfere with the service for other people. We may suspend access that does these things.
Ilusi depends on an AI provider we do not control. Generation may be unavailable, slow, or refuse a passage. Reading continues to work when it does. The service is provided as it is, without a warranty that it will always be available or that any particular illustration will be produced.
Where the law allows it to be limited, our liability is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
We may change these terms; material changes will be shown in the app before they take effect. You can stop using Ilusi at any time by deleting it — credits are not refunded on deletion, as they were spent on illustrations already produced or remain available to that device.
These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Nothing here removes rights you have under the consumer law of the country you live in.
